Abuja’s 555 Fitness Club recently paid tribute to one of its most distinguished members, retired Deputy Comptroller-General (DCG) Bello Jibo Mohammed, in a celebration that fused sport, camaraderie, and community spirit.
DCG Mohammed, a respected figure in the Nigeria Customs Service, retired after a career defined by discipline, leadership, and service to the nation. Beyond his professional achievements, he has been a guiding presence within the 555 Fitness Club, an energetic five-a-side football and fitness community, inspiring members through his commitment to teamwork, fitness, and excellence.
To honour his legacy, the club organised a novelty football match featuring “Team Jibo” against the spirited “Team Rest of the World.” The pitch came alive with energy, laughter, and friendly rivalry, as colleagues, friends, and admirers joined forces to celebrate a man whose influence extends well beyond the field.
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of an appreciation award to DCG Mohammed, recognising his distinguished national service, mentorship, and enduring contributions to the club and wider community.
For members, the event underscored shared values: discipline, unity, and brotherhood—all ideals embodied by DCG Mohammed throughout his life and sporting involvement.
As he embarks on the next chapter, the club reflected on the lasting impact of his leadership, dedication, and mentorship. Through initiatives like weekly training sessions, the 555 Fitness Club continues to champion fitness and well-being.
