The Medicaid Cancer Foundation in collaboration with the Kebbi State Ministry of Health has disbursed funds for the treatment of 58 cancer patients in Kebbi State.

A statement from the foundation yesterday said the disbursement was done as part of activities to commemorate this year’s cancer survivors month.

It was also disbursed from the state Indigent Cancer Patients Fund introduced by the founder of the Medicaid Cancer Foundation and First Lady of Kebbi State, Dr Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu, the statement said.

The fund was launched along with the state’s Cancer Control Plan last year to ameliorate the sufferings of citizens living with cancer across the state. It includes a pool of resources donated by the state government, high net worth individuals as well as corporate bodies.
