The Lagos State Primary HealthCare Board (LSPHCB), has disclosed that over five million children will be immunized by 7,381 vaccine health workers during the second round of this year’s polio vaccination campaign billed to start today and end Tuesday.
The Permanent Secretary of the Board, Dr. Tayo Lawal, made the disclosure at a Town Hall meeting with stakeholders in Lagos.
He said the campaign would involve house-to-house, transit and fixed post teams, adding that children in homes, markets, churches, mosques, major car parks and social event venues would be specifically targeted.
According to him, the trained personnel will administer only OPV to children aged 0 to 59 months, irrespective of their immunization status.
