Six middle aged men were arraigned before a court over conspiracy to kidnap and possession of fire arm.

The accused persons Nasiru Dankawu, Bala Magaji, Bello Burgu, Sanusi Snu, Abdulhadi Surajo, Sunusi Kayole were charged with criminal conspiracy, abduction, rape and illegal possession of fire arm contrary to section 97,273,283 and 319A of the Panel Code Law.

The prosecution officer, Inspector Shuaibu Musa told the court that the accused attacked the settlement of Isya Saidu at Yarlabi village Tudun Wada LGA Kano, with guns, cutlass and sticks, abducted and raped his wife Amina Saidu, 18, and later released her.

They also attacked Muhammad Bello Lawan of Yarlabi village Tudun Wada LGA Kano with the same weapons and attempted to kidnap him before the police were alarmed.

When the charge sheet was read to the accused they all pleaded not guilty.

The presiding Judge, Chief Magistrate Maryam Ahmad Sabo ordered that accused be remanded in police custody and adjourn the case to 10th January.
