Officials of the Lagos State government have arrested six suspects for allegedly defecating openly at Berger area of the metropolis.
The suspects were reportedly arrested at night.
The Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahaba, disclosed this in a post on his X handle.
He said, “Six individuals arrested overnight at Berger for open defecation,” in the post while attaching a short clip of the suspects.
City & Crime reports that the median on the Ojodu-Berger section has long been an eyesore, frequently defaced by faeces from individuals who misuse the space.

This forced the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency and the Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency (OGEPA) to carry out a joint enforcement drive along the highway recently, particularly targeting the median from OPIC Plaza to Otedola Bridge.
In August, the General Manager of LASEPA, Dr Babatunde Ajayi, said open defecation had occupied a stretch of about 7.8 kilometers along Lagos-Ogun states corridor on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
Ajayi, however, said there was an ongoing plan to provide free toilet facilities along the axis to curb the menace apart from the daily enforcement in the area.
