Six persons were injured in an auto crash involving a Volkswagen Golf car at Awawa village, on Abuja-Lokoja road yesterday.

A witness said the accident happened around 10:34 am when the Volkswagen Golf with registration number SAN 640 AU veered off the road after the driver lost control of his steering.

He said the six passengers who sustained various degrees of injuries were rescued by men of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC)  and taken to the hospital.

When contacted, the Abaji unit commander of the FRSC, ACC Olasupo Esuruoso, confirmed the accident which he attributed to speed limit violation and loss of control.

He said the six injured passenger were taken to the Abaji general hospital for treatment.
