Six people, including a girl, have died and 21 others injured in three road accidents in Ogun State.
The spokesman of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State, Florence Okpe, who disclosed this on Monday, said the first crash occurred in the Fidiwo axis of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway at about 4am involving a Toyota bus with registration number, GBJ 915 XA, and an unmarked Golf, and that four persons were involved, with two fatalities and two injured.
She said the second accident involving a Toyota Hiace with registration number, RBC 213 XT, occurred on the Ore-Ijebu-Ode expressway around 5am, attributing it to speed and fatigue on the part of the driver.
She explained that, “A total of 20 persons comprising five male adults, nine female adults and six children were involved in the accident. 17 people sustained injuries, while three persons, two male adults and one female child, died in the crash.”
She further said that the third accident also occurred on the Ore-Ijebu-Ode expressway at about 2am, involving an Iveco truck marked, TRE 265 XB, and an unmarked luxury bus. She explained that, “29 people were involved in the accident. Two persons were injured and one male adult died while 26 people were unhurt.”
