6 LGAs to benefit from Gagarawa power substation in Jigawa

The Governor of Jigawa State, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar

Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State has disclosed that six local government areas will benefit from the power substation at Gagarawa Local Government Area after its inauguration.

The governor disclosed this over the weekend after a discussion with the Minister of Power, Engineer Sule Mamman, on the possibility of extending the supply of electricity to these areas at the inception of operation at the substation.

While inspecting the new substation, the governor noted that the new substation would massively increase revenue generation in the state through industrialisation of several communities like Gagarawa, Maigatari, Gumel, Babura, Taura and Ringim, areas that would benefit from the newly completed substation, with at least 50 industries expected to be established.

While addressing journalists at the site, the minister said that the completion of the substation was in line with the federal government’s effort to bring about an uninterrupted power supply to the country and diversify the economy, adding that he expected the substation to be ready for commissioning in the next three weeks.
