Six residents of Sheka area in Kano metropolis have been arraigned before a Magistrate Court 47 in Gyadi-Gyadi for criminal conspiracy, trespassing, theft and receiving of stolen property.
The offenses were contrary to sections 96, 347, 286 and 287 of the Penal Code Law.
The accused are Abdullahi Abubakar,Yusuf Usman,Umar Auwalu, Saru Sulaiman, Abubakar Usman, Buhari Sulaiman and Yarima Mohammed of Sheka quarters in the state metropolis.
According to the charge sheet, the accused were reported to the police by Hauwa Hamma Sale and Rotta Danmaliki of Tudun Maliki quarters, that on the 24th May, 2017 the accused allegedly conspired and entered their house and shop where they took away their belongings.
The complainants said the accused stole three mobile phones, an iPhone 5s valued at N80, 000, Nokia valued N6, 000, Bimoe handset valued N15, 000, making the total value of the phones to N101, 000.
The court also heard that the accused had on the 27th May, 2017 sold all the phones to one Abubakar Usman, a handset dealer at farm center market in Kano.
When the FIR was read to the accused persons, they all denied the four charges.
The presiding judge, Magistrate Huda H. Haruna, granted the accused persons bail and adjourned the case till 24th July 2017.
