Nearly 7 out of 10 people who responded to a Daily Trust survey considers the Governorship elections conducted in Ekiti State as “free and fair”.

The elections which was held on July 14th saw the APC governorship candidate a former minister of Steel and Solid Minerals, John Fayemi emerging successful.

A total of 582 respondents took part in the survey which closed on July 23rd on the Daily Trust website.

 

The 67 per cent makes up 390 respondents who said they considered the Ekiti elections to be “free and fair”.

However, 105 respondents making up 18 per cent said the Ekiti elections were not free and fair as widely claimed while 82 respondents that makes up 14 percent were felt that votes-buying marred the elction.

One per cent making 5 respondents were  “indifferent”.
