Six passengers yesterday sustained injuries when the commercial bus in which they were commuting was involved in an accident on the overhead bridge near the Osun State House of Assembly.

The victims of the accident in the bus with  registration number RLG 556 XA, which had a collision with a Honda car  with registration number AKD 895 CJ, were market women who were returning from the Owode market.

City News gathered that the Honda car was speeding  and collided with the commercial bus. The scene of the accident was littered with raw foodstuffs, blood stains and palm oil.

The Governor of Osun State, Mr Rauf Aregbesola, who stumbled on the scene, stopped his convoy and was part of the team that worked to rescue the victims from the mangle. The injured were thereafter taken to the hospital for medical treatment.

Aregbesola also ensured that the two vehicles were removed from the road to ensure free flow of traffic before he left the scene of the accident.
