The five-day event, according Kickboxing Association of Nigeria President, Mykel Eneduwa is been held under the guidance of two renowned kick boxers in the world, former three-time K-1 World Champion Remy Bonjasky of Netherland and WAKO World Chief Referee Brian Beck, is aimed at improving the country’s profile in kickboxing world, as well as train the officiating officials the current tricks in the game.

“The idea of this camp is to bring our athletes together to train under the new rules, learn from the experts and see if they can tap from their knowledge in the sport”, Eneduwa stated.

Eneduwa stated that experience from garnered from past championships that Nigeria attended has shown that the country’s athletes are not fully aware of some of the rules, thereby costing them medals during such events.

WAKO World Chief Referee Brian Beck, who is attending the training camp as a referee instructor urged Kickboxing Association of Nigeria to dwell more on catching them young, as well as strive to participate in international championships, as according to him there are abundant talents in Nigeria to be groomed into world champions.

“The main thing is for Nigeria to compete in world championships, fight different styles and get the knowledge; with that, Nigeria’s kickboxing will grow”, Beck stated.
