60 medical students get scholarships to study in China

Jigawa State government has provided scholarships for 60 youths to study medicine in China.

Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar at a one-day preparatory workshop before their departure reiterated his commitment to providing youths in the state with quality education.

He said, “As far as I’m concerned, they were selected on merit. I did not request for a single slot and I instructed them not to give any slot to anybody in the system.”

The governor noted that this was the third set in the series of the students of Jigawa origin who were sent to China to study medicine, assuring that the selection of the students was done purely on merit without any interference from any quarters.

The workshop was facilitated by Youth Coalition for Development, (YCD).
