The office of the Focal Person on Drug Abuse to the Yobe State Governor, in collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has arrested 60 suspected drug abusers and dealers in Damaturu.
Saidu Hassan, the Focal Person on Drug Abuse, informed journalists in Damaturu that the special operation was conducted with a Joint Task Force, comprising officers from the police, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), and local vigilante groups.
According to Hassan, the joint team raided notorious hotspots for illegal drug activities, apprehending the 60 suspects and seizing illicit substances.
“This is just the beginning. By God’s grace, this operation will continue until every lawbreaker involved in drug trafficking is brought to justice. We will not relent in our efforts to protect the future of our youth,” he stated.
He urged the general public to continue supporting the government’s efforts by reporting suspicious drug-related activities in their communities.
