A 60-year-old guard, Emmanuel Onakoya, was on Thursday brought before an Ikeja magistrates’ court for stealing a piano and a plasma television from the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Peculiar Parish, Ayobo, Lagos, where he works.

The prosecutor, Insp Funmi Akinleye, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on June 19.

Akinleye said the defendant informed the pastor in charge of the church that thieves broke into the premises while he was not around.

Akinleye said the pastor found the testimony not to be true, hence he reported to the police.

The Magistrate, Mrs O.O. Fajana, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned to September 20. (NAN)
