The Edo State Police Command says it has rescued 62 kidnapped victims and recovered 45 assorted firearms and 163 rounds of live ammunition between April and July 2025.
The State Commissioner of Police, who disclosed this to journalists in Benin City, stated that the victims, including women and children, were rescued from forests around Ewohimi, Fugar, Okpella, Uromi, Agenebode, and the Benin-Lagos expressway.

The recovered firearms include AK-47 rifles, pump-action guns, locally made pistols, and cut-to-size guns. Additionally, five empty magazines were recovered.
