About 69 million new teachers are needed to provide quality universal primary and secondary education by 2030 in the world, survey conducted by UNESCO Institute for Statistic (UIS), has revealed.
2030 education goal is the deadline of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by the United Nation general assembly last year.
According to the UIS survey which was posted on it official website, in the next 14 years, 24.4 million primary school teachers and 44.4 million secondary school teachers are needed in the world.
UNESCO indicated that sub-Saharan Africa faces the largest teacher gap as it needed a total of 17 million primary and secondary teachers by 2030.
It said that the region is facing challenge of fastest growing school-age population.
