Seven men have been arraigned before a Magistrate court No 16 sitting in No Man’s Land, Kano over alleged armed robbery and possession of fire arms.
The accused Suleiman Abubakar, Ismail Sa’adu, Ali Ibrahim, Bello Ibrahim, Abdu alias SNU, Shafiu Baba and Small Kamshi were charged for two-count charge of armed robbery and fire arms acquisition contrary to Sections B (a) (b) (c) and (1) (2) (3) of the Robbery and Fire Arms Special Provision Act Cap R: 11 LFN of 2004.
The Prosecutor, ASP Anthony Edward, told the court that the accused persons criminally conspired among themselves, stormed the house of one Auwalu Abubakar in Madabo Quarters Kano with local dangerous weapons including cutlass and saw, attacked and robbed him the sum of N98, 000, one handset valued N7500, a wrist watch valued N1,500, one Itel handset valued N5000, one woman wrapper and fifteen yards of Shadda.
When the charge sheet was read to the accused, they all pleaded guilty to the two-count charge.
The presiding Judge, Senior Magistrate Ibrahim Khalil Mahmud, ordered that the accused persons to be remanded in prison custody and adjourned the case to 8th November, 2018 for continuation.
