A Kano Magistrate Court has sentenced seven men, including one Iliya Nasiru, to six months in a correctional facility after finding them guilty of conspiracy, theft, and illegal possession of goods.
The defendants were arraigned for conspiring to steal iron rods from the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport.
The prosecution informed the court that the accused were apprehended while in unlawful possession of the stolen materials.
During the proceedings, all seven defendants pleaded guilty to the charges.
In her ruling, Magistrate Haula Magaji placed the convicts on a six-month bond, during which they are to perform community service. This includes sanitation duties, such as sweeping, at the Waziri Shehu Gidado General Hospital.
