Seven Nigerian artists and storytellers, have made the ColabNowNow’s shortlist. Omole, Kehinde Odutayo, Uche Odoh, Linsey Abudei, Jeremiah Ikongio, Olaolu Ganiy, and Aikenosi Akhige emerged from 49 others.
Sponsored by the British Council, in partnership with Maputo Fast Forward and Fak’ugesi African Digital Innovation Festivals, ColabNowNow will select 11 digital artists, from the United Kingdom and Africa, to “develop cutting edge digital artworks through collaborative artmaking and storytelling,” a statement by the British Council said.
Applicants applied with proposed projects which are to be developed with artistic and technical facilitators. “Together, those selected will create a collaborative exhibition to be launched on October 11 2019 at the opening of the Maputo Fast Forward festival,” the statement said.
ColabNowNow has been developed by the British Council as a space for the leading minds in digital art in Africa and the UK to connect, collaborate and learn from each other in a safe, supportive and enabling environment.
