Seventy kidnap suspects operating in various parts of Kaduna State have been arrested within the last two months, the Kaduna State Police Commissioner, Agyole Abeh has said.
The police commissioner disclosed this while parading some kidnap and armed robbery suspects at the state command headquarters. Those paraded are eight armed robbery suspects including four dismissed soldiers; 12 culpable suicide suspects; nine possessors of illegal fire arms; 5 suspected kidnappers among others.
The commissioner of police said the arrests were the product of intelligence gathering and painstaking investigation.
He said the command has stepped up surveillance within the state to flush out criminals.
On the increase in cases of kidnapping along the Birnin Gwari axis of the state, CP Agyole said new measures were being introduced to arrest the criminals and bring them to book.
He appealed to members of the public to provide useful information to the police and report suspicious people and movements within their locality.
