An Ikeja magistrates’ court on Wednesday ordered that a 72-year-old man, David Jackson, be remanded in a correctional centre for defiling a seven-year-old girl.

The police charged Jackson, who resides in Ojodu Berger, Lagos State, with defilement and sexual assault.

The Magistrate, Mrs E. Kubeinje, who did not take Jackson’s plea, ordered that he should be remanded in a custodial centre and adjourned the case to June 21.

Earlier, the prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, said Jackson committed the offence on May 16, on Akiode Street, Ojodu Berger. NAN)
