The Ekiti State Police Command has arraigned a 72-year-old man, Ojo Ezekiel before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing a goat.
The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendant, on January 22, 2026, at about 1:45 am in Ijero-Ekiti, stole a goat.
Inspector Oriyomi said the offence is punishable under Section 416 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State (2021).
Counsel to the defendant, Barrister Joy Raphael, urged the court to admit her client to bail on liberal terms, assuring the court that he would not jump bail.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Abayomi Adeosun, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N20,000 with one surety in like sum. The case was adjourned until February 13, for hearing
