The victim was whisked away to an unknown destination from his home in Obokwu Amaisi Uvuru in Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State.
Sunday Trust learnt that Mr. Onyenso had planned to have a family thanksgiving service today, Sunday, September 28, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Uvuru, because two of his sons who reside in Turkey and Finland respectively had returned home safely.
Our reporter gathered that the suspected kidnappers had stormed the house of the victim about 8pm and tied up every member of the family, dispossessing them of their mobile phones, valuables and money, before whisking their victim away in a bus.
Our source, a family member who does not want his name mentioned said: “The gunmen who were about 10 in number came in through the main
gate, which was not locked at the time.”
When contacted, the police public relations officer, Imo State command, DSP Andrew Enwerem, confirmed the incident, saying his men were on the trail of the suspected kidnappers.
