8 arraigned over wandering, disorderliness in Ekiti

The police in Ekiti State have arraigned eight persons before a Chief Magistrate Court in Ado-Ekiti over an alleged wandering and disorderliness in the state capital.

The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the suspects, on June 21, at about 8:30am at the Ado-Ekiti magisterial district, were found wandering in such a manner that led to the conclusion that they were for illegal or disorderly purposes.

Inspector Oriyomi said they committed an offence punishable under Section 181(1)(h) of the criminal law of Ekiti State, 2021.

Counsels to the defendants, A. T. Lawal, M. A. Faola and others, urged the court to grant their clients’ bail.

Chief Magistrate A. O. Owoleso granted them bail at the sum of N150,000, with one surety in like sum each, and adjourned the case to August 1 for hearing.
