Police in Niger State have arrested eight suspects for allegedly dealing in illicit drugs and possessing dangerous weapons in Minna.
This information was released in a statement by the state police spokesman, SP Wasiu Abiodun, in Minna on Thursday.
According to Abiodun, on July 7, at about 3am, officers from the Tactical Support Team (TST) of the command apprehended the suspects during a raid of criminal hideouts and black spots in the Gulu area of Lapai.
The raid was conducted based on credible information indicating that the suspects were involved in the sale of illicit drugs and other substances in the area, he said.
He added that the suspects were found in possession of items believed to be cannabis seeds, amulets, alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and an assortment of dangerous weapons, including large machetes, knives, large sickles, and clubs. (NAN)
