The Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DSCTDA) Mobile Court has convicted eight persons for environmental offences.

A total of 28 environmental defaulters were initially summoned to court for various offences, including indiscriminate refuse dumping, obstruction of drainages, and failure to maintain sanitary premises.

Out of the 28 summoned, nine appeared in court: eight were convicted and fined accordingly, and one was discharged.

The court, however, issued bench warrants against the 19 other offenders who failed to appear.

Reacting to the development, the Director-General of the Agency, Patrick Ukah, restated the DSCTDA’s commitment to enforcing environmental laws across the capital territory.
