8 keys to power (I)
The Bible makes it clear that you are anointed to reign. Genesis 1:28 says, “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing […]
The Bible makes it clear that you are anointed to reign.
Genesis 1:28 says, “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”
Romans 5:17, “… they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.”
Why Most Are Not Reigning
We have a real enemy out there that does not want us to succeed. There’s an operation that’s in the spiritual realm that needs to be dealt with for us to reign. Ephesians 6:12 says, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Here is the thing; reigning requires power to force the enemy to submit.
Look at God, see why He is in control. Psalm 66:3 KJV, “Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! Through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee.”
It takes power to subdue the enemy. It takes power to subdue the enemy causing financial problems, sickness, afflictions, stagnation and failure. The enemy does not submit to the weak.
The Origin Of Power
The Bible says in Psalm 62:11, “God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.” Power belongs to God: spiritual power, Healing power, miracle-working power, intellectual power, creative power, psychological power, physical power, political power, financial power, etc.
Look at the coverage of the power. Matthew 28:18, “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” This is amazing, whoever controls the heavenly realm, controls the earthly realm.
The Price Of Power
The dominion of sons on earth is well established in the Bible. The Law created the police force, the army, the office of the president etc. Their authority derives from this document. Your position was created when God spoke. Your dominion mandate was established when God spoke those words in Genesis 1:28. Your authority was conferred by those words. It is an irrevocable instrument! But you have to pay the price for the power you need to effect your control.
Your dominion will come principally from eight things:
1. Submission to the Holy Spirit. It begins with the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Acts 1:8, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” Acts 10:38, “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” There is no power without the Holy Spirit. It is clear from scripture that the Word of God gives you authority but the Holy Spirit gives you power. “You shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you.” Authority without power is worthless. The law creates the military but it is the arsenal it possesses that determines how much power it has. It’s not enough to be filled with the Holy Spirit, you must relinquish control of your life to Him. Allow Him to help you, guide you and teach you. Make a demand of His power and wisdom. Make a demand of the manifestation of His presence. When you are anointed with oil, you are confierred with power. Saul could not rule until he was anointed with oil. David could not ascend the throne until he was anointed with oil. Being anointed with oil is not a mere religious ritual; it is a medium of impartation of a spirit and power. The anointing elevates you from the natural to the supernatural. 1Samuel 10:6, “And the Spirit of the LORD will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man.” When you are anointed the Spirit of God comes upon you and you are TURNED INTO ANOTHER MAN. It is your anointing that qualifies you for your appointment. David was anointed then he was appointed.
2. Earnest or fervent prayer. James 5:16b says, “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” Power is accessed principally through prayer. Your fellowship with the Holy Spirit determines how much power is available to you. Hebrews 4:16 says, “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Isaiah 40:31, “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” I love the word wait. Prevailing prayer is not prayed in a hurry, you tarry in the presence of God to contact a dimension of glory. The breakthrough you seek cannot be obtained by a mere thirty minutes of prayer. It takes hours in a day. If you under pray, you will under perform and under achieve. It takes earnest prayer, fervent prayer to command extraordinary power and results. In prayer, you grow in your capacity, you grow in your authority, you grow in power.
3. Praise. Power comes from your understanding and deployment of the key of praise. Dominion is given to those who are addicted to praise. The Bible says in Genesis 49:10, “The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.” Power and authority are given to the praiser. When you are addicted to praise, you become engulfed with the presence of God who inhabits the praises of Israel and your word becomes a decree that cannot fail. Don’t miss this, it says, unto him shall the gathering of his people be. Pastors, Cell Leaders, activity group leaders, if you are to gather people, you must engage the key of praise. You become a people-magnet when you become addicted to praising God. Everyone needs this, whether you are in ministry, business, politics, or any other career.
