An 80-year-old man, Pa James Ajayi, has been strangled to death by suspected assassins in Ilorin, Kwara State capital.

The octogenarian, popularly called Baba Ajayi, was said to have been killed while alone at his residence at the Gbagede area of Amoyo around 7pm on Tuesday.

It was gathered that one of his sons, Samson Ajayi, who was initially with him in the house, met his father in a pool of his blood when he returned.

The police spokesman in the state, Ajayi Okasanmi, said, “The command is aware of the case and has detailed its men to commence investigation.”
