Nine children hidden inside a container have been intercepted by the police in Kaduna State.

City & Crime gathered that the children, aged 10 to 15, were picked from Danbatta LGA of Kano State and were being accompanied by a woman, Ummi Sani, also from Danbatta.

The police spokesman in the state, DSP Mohammed Jalige, explained that, “Our men from Kurmin Mashi Division, during a stop-and-search patrol, intercepted the scanner container without windows with nine children and a woman inside the vehicle around 4pm on Sunday.

“The children, aged 10 to 15, were picked from Danbatta LGA of Kano State and were on their way to Ijebu-Ode in Ogun State. The suspect claimed she was taking them to help her in her food business, but based on the law, this is unacceptable, looking at the ages of the children.”
