Tinie Tempah
Patrick Chukwuemeka Okogwu more popularly known as by his stage name, Tinie Tempah blew up the airways and charts in the UK and worldwide when he released his debut album, Disc-Overy in 2010. The Igbo rapper and songwriter has enjoyed widespread popularity and fame since then.
David Oyelowo
David has enjoyed a very successful acting career in Hollywood too. Also born in the UK to Nigerian parents, he ventured into the Hollywood and has starred in Lincoln, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, The Butler and Blood and Oil to list a few.
Rotimi Akinosho
Most know him as Dre in the Starz show Power. But before that, Rotimi starred in movies Divergent and Black Nativity. Currently, he runs his own production company, FrontRoSeat Productions.
John Boyega
The British-Nigerian actor has become a Hollywood sensation with huge roles in blockbuster films in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ and recently, in ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ and ‘Pacific Rim: Uprising.’ So far, he’s been taking the movie scene by storm and garnered critical acclaim for himself while at it.
Chiwetel Ejiofor
Chiwetel rose to prominence in his touching role in ‘12 Years a Slave’ in 2012 followed by ‘Half of A Yellow Sun’ and other award winning movies. His top-notch acting has made him one of Hollywood’s biggest names in the industry.
Uzo Aduba
Uzoamaka Aduba rose to prominence for her role in Netflix series, ‘Orange Is the New Black’ playing the role of Crazy Eyes on the show becoming a fan favourite. Her career has only soared to further heights since.
Wale
Olubowale Victor Akintimehin is another Nigerian who’s made it big abroad. Born to Yoruba parents in the states, after making his debut in 2009, Wale has been blazing world charts with albums Folarin, ‘The Gifted’ and ‘The Album About Nothing.’ The rapper has also collaborated with the likes of Olamide and Wizkid.
Taio Cruz
Another chart topping Nigerian is Jacob Taio Cruz, more popularly known as simply Taio Cruz. The RnB singer’s career in music began back when he was only 19 and won numerous awards including a Billboard Music Award, BRIT Award and a host of others.
Nonso Anozie
‘Game of Thrones’ fans will recognize this familiar face as the one who played the role of Xaro Xhoan Daxos in the second season of the HBO hit show. Apart from that, he also appeared in Dracula and number of other successful TV and movie projects. Nonso was born to Nigerian parents based in the UK.
