Bruno Mars and long-time manager Brandon Creed have split, Billboard has learned.
Creed, whose company The Creed Co. also represents Mark Ronson and Sara Bareilles, had worked with Mars for nine years, during which the singer won four Grammys (including record of the year in 2016 for “Uptown Funk”), notched six No. 1s on the Billboard Hot 100 and played two Super Bowls.
According to an insider, Mars, who has sold 5.04 million albums in the U.S., according to Nielsen Music, is believed to be starting his own operation and likely to bring management in-house.
Creed, who is based in Los Angeles, was ranked at No. 62 on the 2016 Billboard Power 100.
Billboard has reached out to Creed and Mars’ label, Atlantic Records, for comment.
