90 people to get free artificial limbs in Kano

At least 90 physically challenged persons in Kano state will get free artificial limbs from Tolaram Foundation, an Indian based non-governmental organisation.

The gesture was part of the organisation humanitarian services being rendered across the country.

The Coordinator of the programme, Malam Usman Idris disclosed this when he paid a courtesy visit to Kano state Deputy Governor, Dr Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna in his office.

Idris said the foundation had been working closely with Jama’atul Izalatul Bid’a Wa Ikamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS) in the last four years, adding that through engagement, it was able to provide artificial limbs and hands to over 3,000 people free of charge.

“We are now determined to treat 500 disable people across the country through our alliance with JIBWIS irrespective of their religion or tribal background and Kano is among the benefiting states. We have allocated 90 slots to Kano considering the population of the state,” he said.

In his remark, Gawuna stated that the programme was in line with Kano state government’s health care service delivery programme.

“On this note, I want to assure the foundation that Kano state ministry of health will liaise with its representatives in order to go about the programme for the benefit of our people,” Gawuna said.
