A case for Namadi Sambo: Loyalty begets loyalty

Persons who providence thrust the responsibility of leadership upon usually possess certain noble traits like honesty, integrity, loyalty and vision. Indeed these traits, nay qualities, are a sine qua non for any one desirous of being called a leader.
I make bold to say without any equivocation that Vice President Namadi Sambo not only possesses these qualities in good measure, but also is divinely blessed by the Amighty with an intimidating intellect and humble disposition .The giant strides attained by the Jonathan administration cannot be divorced from the excellent working relationship between Mr President and Vice President Namadi Sambo. The obivious absence of tension and the extreme cordiality between President Jonathan and Architect Namadi Sambo have, in no small measure, served to create an enabling environment for the substantial achievement of the goals of Mr President’s transformation agenda.
The Bible poses an interesting yet rhetorical question to discerning minds, which goes thus: “shall two walk together, except they agree?”    It ought to be abundantly clear to all and sundry that President Jonathan and Vice President Sambo have excellent chemistry. It, therefore, stands to reason that together they will take Nigeria even further along the road to progress, peace and stability.
We are all living witnesses to the unwholesome effects of political bickering that dominated the relationship between a recent former president and his deputy. Their quarrels nearly led to the balkanization of our dear nation. Here we are again and a group of desperate political adventurers are plotting to put a wedge between President Jonathan and Namadi Sambo. To suggest that  President Jonathan  is harbouring the thought of sacrificing his most trusted, loyal and supportive deputy on the altar of political expediency is not only absurd but also seeks to tarnish the image of Mr President by portraying him as a political ingrate.
Vice President Namadi Sambo has time and again proven his loyalty to President Jonathan. By virtue of his training as an architect, the vice president has brought a measure of administrative discipline to governance. Namadi Sambo is probably the most hardworking vice president Nigeria has ever had. The responsibilities assigned to him, have all been very strategic and germane to the realization of the transformation Agenda of Mr. President.
The successful midwifing of the privatization of the power sector can by and large be attributed to his painstaking approach to the task.
While opposition forces have sought to distract Mr. President with mischievous political intrigue, Namadi Sambo has consistently been a pillar of support for President Jonathan.
Together, they have not only deflected the fiery darts of a determined but misguided opposition, but have also excelled in making giant strides in the areas of power generation, agriculture and national cohesion. Separating this intimidating awesome twosome at this time will be tantamount to social and political suicide for not just the ruling party P.D.P but for the nation as a whole.
One dare say, that Nigeria has never had a better pair at the Presidency, the seamless manner Vice President Namadi Sambo compliments his principal is indicative of his disposition as a loyal team player.
Proponents of dropping Namadi Sambo at this time have not even for once given a cogent reason for their position other than the fact that they are consumed by the virus known as “inordinate ambition”. Nigeria is at a very crucial crossroad that requires the peculiar temperament of a calm and resolute president like Goodluck Jonathan and a focused and loyal vice president like Namadi Sambo.
