Speaking in an interview with journalists in Uyo, Sam said though the project started in 2007, the state did not join until 2010.
 He said only 20 local government councils out of the 31 in the state were selected in line with the project document that says only 20 councils will be selected in a state. The participating 30, 318 farmers in the state are drawn from the 20 local government councils.
He said the 20 participating councils were selected based on their expression of interest, adding that the state government has within the period, disbursed N583.94 million to over 1,215 FADAMA user groups and 78 community associations in the state.
 He said the project beneficiaries were involved in poultry, piggery, fisheries, cassava farming and agro-processing among others.
