I wish to extend my congratulations to our amiable elected governor of our dear state, Katsina, as he took the oath of office today; May 29.  

Indeed, this day is a memorable day to every citizen of our state as we hope the state will be transformed with good infrastructure that could have direct bearing to the people, particularly rural communities.  

Our people need more in the area of road network, healthcare delivery, security, education, job creation, potable water and economic development.  

I want to advise our governor that there is need for his administration to review the rural development policy of the state especially by setting up a committee which will go round all the nooks and crannies of the state with a view to identifying some of the common problems affecting the people, particularly in rural areas, and suggest ways or modern mechanisms to address those challenges.

In the area of security, Katsina State still faces insecurity, especially in Dandume, Faskari, Bakori, Funtua, Danja, Kankara, Safana, Matazu, Jibiya Batsari, Matazu, Danmusa, Malumfashi local government areas. This ugly trend has rendered many inhabitants homeless and poor.  

I want to appeal to His Excellency to look inward in addressing the lingering insecurity that bedevilled the aforementioned areas through collaboration with the federal government for peace to thrive considering the fact that those areas I mentioned earlier are the backbone of food security in the state, especially in the area of agriculture.  

In the education sector, the level of education at both the basic and secondary levels needs total reinvigorating. Thus, there is urgent need for His Excellency to declare a state of emergency in the education sector, and recruit more qualified teachers at primary and junior secondary levels for our children to have access to quality education in the state. The motive behind my observations is that the state lacks adequate and qualified teachers at primary and junior secondary school levels all over the state in the last 10 years.  

May Almighty Allah bless the administration of Dr Dikko Radda, Katsina State and Nigeria at large. May Almighty Allah be with him to rule the state successfully for the benefit of all its citizens.  

Long live Katsina state, long live Federal Republic of Nigeria!
