A peep into 2022 Honda Civic

Honda has only released the prototype of the All-New 2022 Civic, but the sign of thrills to come has generated a lot of interest in the automobile world.

The prototype, according to Honda, paves the way for the 2022 Civic sedan which is expected to hit the market next spring “with an even sportier chassis and more powerful engine options.”

The 11th generation Civic prototype displays a sleek daring look for 2022 and beyond. Its low, wide stance points to the agility and athleticism of this sporty sedan.

What has changed?

Even as Honda is yet to release the full details of the newest addition in its Civic offering, it is expected that it will have a selection of four-cylinder engines – including a turbocharged 1.5-litre – to be offered and front wheel drive.

Similarly, the tech features have been updated, providing a larger infotainment display, wireless smartphone connectivity and improved driver-assistance features.

According to Honda, the new features are positioning the latest Civic to compete comfortably with the likes of the Hyundai Elantra, Mazda 3 and Toyota Corolla.

Fuel

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) which rates the fuel economy of any automobile is yet to release its estimates for the 2022 model, this is not going to be anything different from the 2021 model rated as the most fuel-efficient in the compact car segment.

Interior

The 2022 Civic comes with a more streamlined interior design, having cleaner lines and a dashboard featuring a full-width honeycomb-patterned mesh design element cleverly hiding the air vents.

In terms of cargo according to Honda, the passenger space is virtually the same with the 2021 model.

Infotainment

The prototype of the 2022 Civic features a 9.0-inch touchscreen display running the most up-to-date version of Honda’s infotainment system.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both likely to be standard and may also offer wireless connectivity.

Expected options include in-dash navigation, on-board Wi-Fi and a wireless smartphone charging pad.

Major pre-sale reviews conducted on it have described the Civic as an amazing new car.
