‘And what makes you think all the story says is true. Don’t be too quick to judge the VC.’ Tahir cautioned.

‘Really? You mean you have doubts in what I read to you? But this isn’t all. There are other reasons to believe the VC has backed a wrong claim.’ I argued. ‘From instance this satirical piece that has gone viral lately says a lot about the kind of man the senator is. Just hear this’ I offered, getting set to read it out to him:

“Dino: The man who knows no fear the 1st Nigerian reported to have  finished Primary school in 1970, while he was born in 1974 the only person reportedly given admission to study Geography in ABU with 3 credits in WAEC the only person reported to have served in 1999, while he graduated in 2000 the only youth Corper in the history of NYSC who wore blue shorts while in Camp  the only graduate who doesn’t have a certificate 17 years after graduation and no one dares to challenge him  the only person who obtained a Degree from Harvard within 1 week the only senator who was reported to have threatened to impregnate a fellow female senator in a senate committee room and thereafter singlehandedly dares her husband at Bourdilon, Lagos the senator who moved the motion that disqualified Magu from senate confirmation  the senator who moved the motion mandating Hameed Ali to appear in his uniform

Ladies and gentlemen, conquer fear and you conquer death! A standing ovation for the most-daring Nigerian!”

‘Now isn’t this amazing?’ I said, after reading the piece out to him. ‘How can anyone with so many discrepancies to his name, court the confidence of a whole VC, to the extent that he was willing to stake his hard earned reputation to save him?’ I enquired. 

‘This kind of anonymous social media blab doesn’t prove anything Bint. Be careful how quickly you  quote them.’ Tahir warned.

‘Is that what you think. Do you really think people will go out of their way to compile all this instances when they are all untrue?’ I demanded. 

‘Yes, people can do everything these days when the money is right.’ He argued.

‘Well then, how about this one that was written by a named ABU alumnus whose sole concern was the reputation of his celebrated alma mater? Let me read it out to you, then you can judge for yourself if the VC deserves knocks or kudos.
