There have been calls for a planned nationwide protest against the government’s economic policies which made life tough for the average Nigerian.

Protest is the act of citizens expressing their disapproval of a situation or policy in their country. However, it is important to advise the organisers to ensure they have strong leaders to lead them.

This is because often in Nigeria, when people protest, even if it is for peaceful causes, criminal elements use the occasion to commit crimes such as stealing, robbing and damaging public and private properties.

Demonstrating democratically is not illegal, but in many African nations, protests tend to make problems worse rather than provide solutions.    Some instances are Sudan, Libya, and Syria; all three of these nations had nonviolent protests which later led to chaos. 

Let me, in particular, caution the northern youths because if this happens, the region will be worse affected.

Let me summarise my message to Nigerians as a whole; we must acknowledge the existence of God, who created the world, heaven, and man. He designed the ideal life for us, but we have strayed from it lately. Let us ask God for forgiveness, confess our sins, and ask him to help us solve our current issues. Additionally, we must keep in mind that before we voted for them, we collected their money. We need to vote for reasonable, capable individuals who are prepared to make sacrifices and dedicate themselves to serving us as our leaders. Let us change the way we vote. One day, I hope to see Nigerian elections and the government itself restored and revived.
