The A5 Sportback has 4 doors and a long, tapering roofline, giving it a “coupe-like” appearance. However it is not sold in the United States and Canada. It is designed to be “as emotional and elegant as a coupe, as comfortable as a sedan, and as practical as an Avant” according to Audi. There every tendency it will attract high user who often opt for premium sedan here in Nigeria. Already people are driving it and there are some beautiful aspect that user may be attracted to.
The new A5 and B8 A4 were based on the Audi MLP platform (Modular Longitudinal Platform) which is planned to underpin the next generation A6 and A8.It is slotted between the Audi a4 and larger Audi a6 The platform is notable for its departure from Audi’s trademark “overhung” engine mounting position over the front axle, in favour of the power train being located behind the front axle – in an effort to achieve a more even weight distribution between the front and rear wheels. More over the A5 come with big rims and I much lower than the A6. Its overall design moves you closer to the F1 layout. Its extreme low profile tyres and huge brake with vents at the front is very much welcomed for roads here in Abuja even to Kaduna. The only not so good thing is this car may not handle overload well. It’s design to carry four passengers conveniently. This car simply adds richness to the Abuja metropolis for sophistication.
The spoiler lip and the diffuser insert give contrast and stress the athletic tightness of the elongated contour. The coupe-like silhouette is the result of a roof section with a long, tapering roofline that is fairly lower by 36 mm than the Audi A4 Sedan and of the short at the front and rear. The Audi A5 Sportback gives a full measure of convenient on all four seats and comfortable entry and exit through every door. The two gasoline versions, the 2.0 TFSI quattro with 155 kW and 350 Nm of torque and the 3.2-liter V6 quattro producing 195 kW (265 hp) are both equipped with the Audi valvelift system.
These engines are also available right from the start: the 2.0 TDI with 125 kW (170 hp), 350 Nm (258 lb-ft), a 6-speed manual gearbox and start/stop system, the 2.7 TDI with 140 kW (190 hp) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft), and the three-liter V6 TDI with 176 kW (240 hp).
It looks very much like a great car we hope it will achieve much sales.
