Businessman and politician, Abdulkarim Abdulsalam Zaura (A.A. Zaura), has expressed deep sadness over the recent abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi State and the deadly attack on a church in Kwara State, which left several worshippers dead and many others injured.

In a statement issued through his Media aide, Dahiru Maihuddadu, Zaura described the incidents as “heart-breaking and unacceptable,” noting that Nigerians can no longer afford to live under constant fear due to escalating insecurity across the country.

“These tragic events in Kebbi and Kwara have once again reminded us of the fragile state of security in our country. The abduction of innocent schoolchildren and the brutal killing of worshippers in a place of prayer are horrors no society should ever endure,” he said.

Zaura called on the federal government and security agencies to adopt more proactive and intelligence-driven approaches in confronting the growing wave of criminality, saying the traditional reactive style has failed to guarantee safety.

“It is time for the government to rise to its full responsibility of securing lives and property. Nigerians deserve better. We must strengthen intelligence gathering, invest in modern security infrastructure, and ensure that perpetrators of such heinous crimes are swiftly brought to justice,” he added.

While commiserating with the families of the abducted schoolgirls and victims of the Kwara attack, Zaura urged communities to cooperate with security agencies by providing timely information that could help prevent further tragedies.

He also prayed for the safe return of the abducted schoolgirls and for the quick recovery of those injured in the Kwara attack.

Zaura reaffirmed his belief that Nigeria can overcome its security challenges with strong political will, unity, and renewed commitment from all stakeholders.
