According to the AAF, “there are four categories, photography, new media, painting and sculpture. In these four categories, the six6 geo political zones which will produce four finalists each. We will then come together at the national level in Lagos and pick four final winners. In each category the winner will with a cash prize of N750, 000, provided by Nigeria breweries.”

The competition is aimed promoting the new art genre new media in which Nigeria is yet to developed as well as hon. new talents under the age of 30 so that they can compete favourably globally.  

New media could involve film, installation and other things not of the norm, juxtaposing materials like canvass and metal and other unusual compositions to express art.

Exhibition in Lagos and Abuja as well as a coffee table which will showcase the 24 finalists and their works from the beginning to their present stage would also hold.
