The Chairman of Abaji Area Council, Alhaji Abdulrahman Ajiya, has met with the branch manager of Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) over power outage in the area.
Ajiya, who expressed concern over epileptic power supply in the area, noted that lack of stable electricity was affecting both social and economic activities in the area.
He urged the AEDC management to see to how it would address the perennial problem of poor power supply across the council, saying the council was ever ready to intervene where it discovered there was problem.
“The epileptic power supply in Abaji and its environs is causing a serious concern and we call on the management to, as a matter of urgency, let us know what the problems are so that we can intervene,” he said.
Responding, the Abaji branch manager of AEDC, told the chairman that the epileptic power supply in the area was as a result of some challenges, which he said the AEDC was making efforts to address.
He assured the chairman that AEDC will do its best to ensure that Abaji and its environs enjoy stable electricity, even as he identified the problem of high tension along the Yangoji-Gada-Biyu axis.
The manager said his men have been deployed to the area to rectify the problem, assuring that electricity will be fully restored in Abaji and its environs.
