Parents have been asked to always cooperate with immunisation officials in order to ensure that their children are immunised.
Speaking at the flag-off of a five-day Maternal, New born and Child Health week in Abaji yesterday, the chairman of the Area Council, Alhaji Abdulrahman Ajiya, said there was need for parents to take child immunisation seriously.
He said parents would be happy when their children live in sound health.
He urged traditional and religious leaders to ensure they sensitise their subjects on the need to present their children for immunisation.
“I believe by the time parents can support our immunisation officials by making sure that every child is immunised, we will no doubt be top among the six area councils that give priority to child immunisation in the FCT,” he said.
