The Chairman of Abaji Area Council, Alhaji Abdulrahman Ajiya, has said students of the newly established Government Day Secondary School (GDSS) will soon be moved to the permanent site on Agyana road in the area.
City News gathered that the school, since its inception early this year, has been occupying some blocks of classrooms at Pilot Science Primary School in the area.
Ajiya, who was speaking after he was led on an inspection of facilities at the permanent site of the school last Thursday, said he was impressed with the facilities on ground which, he said, would provide conducive learning environment for the students.
He said the council was making arrangement to disburse scholarship to indigent students of the council who were learning at various tertiary institutions across the country, to encourage them and reduce the burden on their parents.
“In fact, as I speak now, we have directed the council’s head of department for education to carry out the screening of all the eligible students so that we can know how much will be released for the scholarships to each students,” he said.
