Abaji GDSS to relocate to permanent site soon –Council boss

The Chairman of Abaji Area Council, Alhaji Abdulrahman Ajiya, has said the newly established Government Day Secondary School (GDSS) in the area will soon move to the permanent site.

Ajiya, who stated this at the 1st graduation/ prize giving day ceremony of the school at the weekend, assured that arrangement for the relocation was on the verge of completion.

“I want to congratulate the graduands of this school and it will be important for you all to bear in mind that this is your starting point and you have to work harder in your next chapter of life so that you can contribute to the development of the society,” he said.

The chairman, therefore, charged parents to ensure that the graduands who were future leaders were enrolled into tertiary institutions.

In his address, the principal of the school, Mr. Ishaya Doma, said the school has a total of 1108 students out of which 375 students were graduating.

He said despite the school has been operating at temporary site, it had made some remarkable progress in the quality of instruction and materials.

The principal commended the chairman of the FCT Secondary Education Board, Alhaji Muhammed Musa Yahaya, chairman of the council, and the Ona of Abaji , Alhaji Adamu Baba Yunusa for their support to the school.

The occasion also witnessed the presentation of various prizes and awards to the graduands.
