The Health and Human Services Secretariat of the FCT Administration has reacted to the viral video of a man disposing his Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) unprofessionally after participating in the burial of Mallam Abba Kyari at the Gudu cemetery, Abuja.
Dr Mohammed Kawu, Ag Secretary Health and Human Services Secretariat FCTA in a tweet thread Saturday noted that the PPE left over by the man has been professionally evacuated and the entire cemetery decontaminated.
He further revealed that all the individuals who participated in the burial, including the man in question have been identified and are being isolated with all necessary tests conducted to determine their level of exposure.
Kawu called on residents to remain calm, assuring that “the FCT Administration will continue to do all that is necessary to curtail and eventually end the spread of the Coronavirus in the FCT.”

The video which went viral Saturday was followed with immediate backlash from Nigerians on social media, who called out the Federal Government and all Health sectors to uphold the COVID-19 law.
The man was seen in the video, openly disposing his PPE on the ground by the side of a car, leaving it exposed.
The unknown man is said to be one of the COVID-19 team members who participated in the burial of the late chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari.
Abba kyari died from COVID-19 complication and was buried Saturday in Abuja.
