Abba Mohammed appointed Wikki Tourists Team Manager
A former Coordinator of the national U-23 team also known as Olympic Eagles, Abba Mohammed, has been appointed the Team Manager of Wikki Tourists of Bauchi.
The Secretary of the club, Sa’ad Chadi, who signed the letter announcing the appointment on behalf of the newly inaugurated Interim Management Committee said Mohammed’s appointment was based on merit and the services he had rendered to the club and the U-23 national team.
“Your appointment is on merit and based on your immense contributions, experience and services rendered to the club in particular, the state and Nigeria.
“I wish to draw your attention to the fact that the management has confidence in your ability to harmonise activities of the club as the Team manager,” the letter reads in part.

In his response, Mohammed said the appointment is a challenge to him but he will do everything to justify the confidence reposed in him by the management.
“The appointment is a challenge to me but I pledge to bring my wealth of experience to bear in discharging my duties.
“I must not forget to add that I need the support of everyone to succeed in this new assignment,” he said.
Mohammed, popularly called ‘Zico’ started his football career in the defunct NEPA FC of Bauchi. He later played for clubs like Bauchi Wunti, Lobi Stars, Gombe United before a stint with Elmerrick Port of Sudan.
Mohammed who retired from active football in 2012 was also the Co-ordinator/Team Manager of Wikki Tourists Feeder team from 2013-2017 and Coordinator of the bronze winning Olympic Eagles at the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil.
