Coach Usman Abdallah has resigned from his position as Technical Adviser of Kano Pillars football club, citing personal reasons.
According to the club, Abdallah chose to “step down” from his role due to personal considerations.
“Kano Pillars can confirm that our Technical Adviser, Usman Abdallah, has stepped down from his role with immediate effect due to personal reasons,” Kano Pillars said in a statement.
“The gaffer informed the club management of his decision to vacate his position, citing the emergence of a significant opportunity which he believes cannot be combined with his current responsibilities without compromising either role.
“After careful discussions, both parties agreed it was in the best interest of the club’s future that he steps aside,” Kano Pillars stated.
Abdallah also took time to shed more light on his decision to leave the club after taking charge for just one season.
“Due to something important that has come my way, I have decided to step down as Technical Adviser of this great club,” Abdallah said.
“I had earlier informed the chairman of this development, and we mutually agreed that it is best I step aside so the club can appoint someone who can fully commit to driving the team forward.”
“Though I am stepping down, I will continue to support Kano Pillars from afar and offer advice whenever needed. This club is our pride, and I am always willing to contribute to its success in any way possible,” said Abdallah.
Abdallah was appointed Technical Adviser of Kano Pillars in August 2024. During the recently concluded season, he was suspended in February due to a series of poor results.
His suspension was lifted in April, after which he led the club to a ninth-place finish in the NPFL season.
