US President Barrack Obama today engaged President Goodluck Jonathan in a telephone conversation over the abduction of over 200 schoolgirls of Chibok, Borno State.
Obama, who phoned Jonathan at about 3pm today through the US Secretary of State, promised to send troops to Nigeria to assist in the ongoing search and rescue operations for the release of the captives.
Presidential spokesman, Reuben Abati, disclosed this to State House reporters this evening during a press conference.
He said Jonathan also today met with the service chiefs and had received updates from them, on the abduction of the schoolgirls.
